About Us

More Than Fifty Years of Teaching the Propane Industry

For more than five decades, Mike DiGiorgio has dedicated his career to helping propane professionals work safely, confidently, and competently.

Throughout that time, he has trained thousands of employees—from new hires taking their first steps in the industry to experienced technicians, delivery drivers, plant operators, and managers seeking to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

His experience extends far beyond the classroom. Mike has worked with propane marketers across the country, contributed to industry education, and served as an expert witness in propane-related litigation, petroleum products litigation, natural gas litigation, and general trucking lawsuits, investigating incidents where training, procedures, and decision-making came under intense scrutiny. Those experiences have provided a unique perspective on what effective training looks like—not only in the classroom, but in the real world.

That perspective has shaped everything we teach.

Our Philosophy

Training should do more than transfer information.

  • It should build judgment.
  • It should develop confidence.
  • It should verify competency.
  • And it should prepare employees for the situations they will encounter throughout their careers—not simply the tasks they perform today.

Our philosophy has always been that truly professional training combines three essential elements:

  • Comprehensive education
  • Objective verification of knowledge and skills
  • Real-world experience from instructors who have lived the work they teach

That philosophy has guided Mike's instruction for decades and remains the foundation of every class we offer today.

Why We Developed CPEP

The propane industry continues to evolve, and so does professional education.

The educational resources developed through PERC's Education Program (PEP) represent an important investment in keeping training current with today's equipment, regulations, and industry practices. We believe those resources add significant value and should be part of every professional training program.

At the same time, we also believe there is lasting value in the comprehensive, role-based certification structure that served the industry for many years.

Rather than choosing between those two approaches, we chose to combine their strengths.

Our Certified Propane Education Program (CPEP) preserves the complete, structured curriculum that professionals have long associated with traditional certification while incorporating current educational content drawn from PERC's latest training materials.

Students receive instruction that is comprehensive, current, and grounded in decades of practical experience.

Where applicable, students also receive official PEP training credit for the educational modules completed during their course.

Experience You Cannot Learn From a Textbook

One of the advantages of learning from an instructor with decades of experience is the opportunity to go beyond the curriculum.

Mike has spent a lifetime solving problems, answering difficult compliance questions, investigating propane incidents, and helping companies improve safety programs. Every class includes lessons learned from real situations—examples that illustrate not only what the standards require, but why those standards matter.

The result is a learning experience that combines technical knowledge with practical understanding.

Preparing Professionals, Not Just Completing Courses

Our goal has never been simply to help students complete a class.

Our goal is to help them become better propane professionals.

  • Whether you are preparing a new employee for a career in the industry or investing in continuing education for experienced personnel, our commitment is the same as it has always been:
  • Provide comprehensive instruction.
  • Verify competency.
  • Teach current industry practices.
  • And prepare students with the knowledge and judgment they need to work safely, confidently, and professionally.

What to expect from us

Our classes are taught live, online, and in real time. They are not prerecorded videos, self-paced courses, or one-way webinars.

When you attend one of our classes, you're joining a virtual classroom led by an experienced instructor. Students can ask questions, participate in discussions, and benefit from the real-world examples and practical insights that come from decades of industry experience. Just like an in-person class, every session is interactive and tailored to the needs of the students in attendance.

We specialize in CETP, CPEP, hazardous materials, and propane safety training. Whether you're a new employee entering the industry or an experienced professional expanding your knowledge, our goal is to provide training that is comprehensive, engaging, and immediately applicable on the job.

Our pricing is just as straightforward as our training. Companies pay one flat fee for the class—not per student. Whether you send one employee or twenty, your cost remains the same (up to the capacity of the virtual classroom). It's an affordable way to ensure your entire team receives consistent, high-quality instruction while encouraging discussion and learning together.
